1. Tell use a little about yourself and your art. Where you came, Where you are at now and the work your doing, Any plans for the future(dream projects ext.).
I grew up in a small mining city in Northern Ontario drawing and skating, mostly skating. I went to art school in Toronto and stayed there once I had graduated cause going back up the highway was not a pleasant idea. Over 5 years ago I moved out to Vancouver. So here is where I sit. In this city I have a studio space that is about a 15 minute downhill bike ride from my apartment. It’s really nice to have a place for your art somewhere to get away from the distractions of the apartment. At the studio there is one thing to do and that is paint or draw. There are things that get in the way there but they aren’t a constant they are more eventful.
Right now I am working on a solo show that is happening in Oceanside California at the end of the summer so that is taking up all my time. There are other random things that come along. I do the occasional board graphic, illustration, or t-shirt graphic. I just finished up a board graphic for Heroin Skateboards which I’m really stoked on. Other than that I do a lot of illustrations for the Vancouver based Momentum Wheel Company.
When not doing that I’m chilling with Brie and the cat or skidding around on my bike through the East Van streets.
As far as future plans, not sure. Hopefully some travel to somewhere far and full of contrasts. Maybe eating a tasty sandwich, that would be sweet.
2. If you woke up tomorrow and had two of thous pirate hooks for hands what would you do.
I would consider using the hooks to poke out my eyes because my first reaction would be what good are my eyes if I can’t use my hands but I would then calm down and call my friend Taku who is a genius with hydraulics and electronics and he would rig up something fantastic.
3. Lets say you are a lot older then you are and you grew up living next to Charles Shultz (Charlie Brown creator). Then Charles made you into one of the characters in his comic strip how do you think he would have portrayed you.
Just a head rolling around inside of Snoopy’s dog house and occasionally being used by Woodstock and his ilk as a place to chill on or around.
